The first step I take when working with a new client is understanding what service they want to allocate all of our marketing efforts to. Are you a generalist with your marketing efforts? If so, this is a fast way to mediocrity! Generating results from digital marketing requires Focus.

The first step to generating results from your marketing efforts is to choose which service you want to allocate all of your resources to. I am sure you already have a service in the back of your mind that if you spent all day doing, you would be happy. DUI cases? Motorcycle accident cases? Letters Testamentary cases?
Just as if you chase two bunnies, both will get away. The same applies to marketing.
Write down the service you will allocate your marketing dollars to dominate.

Step #2: Focus Target Market
Let’s say you choose DUI as the service you will dominate. This step is to Focus all your marketing resources to dominate this target market.
Create marketing material to show you are the best DUI attorney in your city. Create landing pages, educational content, and business cards. Your main goal is to become synonymous with DUI defense.
You must also identify what city/location you want to control. Again, depending on how many searches there are in a particular city/area will influence this decision big time.
Imagine you get a DUI, hop on Google, and see your law firm. Your website is loaded with valuable content and helpful information and paints you as the expert in DUI defense. Your competition doesn’t stand a chance.
Let’s say you are having heart trouble; who would you rather go to? A general doctor? Or a heart specialist? People want to deal with experts.
Now that your marketing is focused on your target market, let’s move on to the next step.
Step #3: Focus Marketing
Once you have identified your Core Service and understand who your Target Market is, it is time to understand the best way to get them to call your law firm.
I am sure you have heard that 20% of your efforts generate 80% of the results. Well, below are the 20% of things that will generate 80% of the results for your business.
For law firms, a group of core activities will provide the best results for your efforts.
- Local SEO (ranking in the Local Map Pack)
- Optimizing your Google Business Profile
